What happened with Zero?
Dr. Cain sighed, and clicked off the monitor. He'd just finished watching the security tape between X and Zero in the training room for what felt like the 12th time. He still couldn't figure out what had happened. Well, he had a feeling, but he wasn't sure how Zero could have gone Maverick. And unfortunately the scans that he had of Zero's schematics were frustratingly vague. Sighing softly, he put the remote down and headed down to Medical. He was going to need to talk to X about this. | | Saturday, April 1st, 2006 | | 7:42 pm |
Life goes on
Dr. Cain was taking a break. He'd been getting very little sleep since he started to salvage Zero. It looked like in the end it would be possible to bring Zero back from beyond the grave. Dr. Cain just wasn't sure if Zero would be the same when he was reactivated. Of course, that could only be determined after Zero was put back together and working again. As it was, there'd been a gap left by Zero's death. Which meant that someone needed to fill it. Which meant a promotion was in order. As it was, Dr. Cain had gone over everything. X, despite all of his protests about being Zero's subordinate, was still Zero's second in command. Which kind of made him next in line for commander of the 17th by default. So, Dr. Cain summoned X to his office, rather than the lab. After all, X wouldn't be able to nose around his work (namely Zero's body) in the office. | | Friday, March 24th, 2006 | | 7:59 am |
A talk with Zero
Well, it was certainly a good thing that he had spoken to X when he had. The poor boy was in the medical lab now and under strict orders not to leave his bed for anything short of a life-threatening emergency. Dr. Cain had been concerned when he heard about that. Fortunately, it looked like the techs would have no real problem fixing X up. They just didn't want their work to get ruined because X started moving before his systems had a chance to stabilize. Zero, on the other hand, was released within a few hours. There really hadn't been too much damage to fix on him, but he wouldn't be allowed back on duty for at least a day, just to be safe. So, with no more need to worry about the two repliroids, Dr. Cain felt that he might as well focus on his work. The fact that Zero would be off duty the whole day was an opportunity he simply couldn't pass up. Zero could submit his report on the factory incident and Dr. Cain could question him about X. After he summoned the repliroid commander, Dr. Cain set out the two tapes he had of Zero's and X's recent 'interactions' and prepared the recording device. This would surely prove quite interesting. | | Monday, March 20th, 2006 | | 12:46 pm |
Questioning X
Dr. Cain had been reviewing the video tape that some of the techs had gotten him earlier in the day. Both the tape from the conference room, and the tape from the security room. The tape from the security room was of more interest to him, because unlike the one from the conference room, that tape had sound. Of course, this all boiled down to one simple fact. X was kissing Zero. And Zero was kissing X. And there was definitely a paper in this somewhere. Though he'd need more details. Straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. So, he did the best thing he could think of. He summoned X. He'd question Zero later. After all, he wanted to hear both sides of the story, but X would probably talk to him a lot easier than Zero would. Or at least be easier to get information from. |
